A privacy summary for junior members · Version 2026.1

West Bretton Cricket Club needs some information about you so you can be a member, play cricket safely and use Club services. This page explains what happens to it in straightforward language.

What information do we use?

Your name, age and contact details.
Your parent or carer's details.
Your emergency contact and any health or accessibility information needed to keep you safe.
Your team, availability, matches, scores and playing statistics.
Your photograph or video where the Club has permission or another proper reason to use it.
Information about your Club account and messages sent through the website or app.

Why do we need it?

We use it to manage your membership, arrange coaching and matches, select teams, record results, contact you or your parent/carer and help protect your welfare.

Who can see it?

Only people who need it for their Club role should see private information. This may include authorised coaches, captains, administrators and the Club Safeguarding Officer.

We may also need to share relevant information with organisations such as Yorkshire Cricket Board, the ECB, Cricket Regulator, your league, Play-Cricket, another club, emergency services or safeguarding authorities. We do not sell your information.

Play-Cricket and scorecards

The ECB operates Play-Cricket under its own privacy information. Match scorecards and playing statistics form part of cricket's history. Your first and last name may therefore remain on old scorecards even after you stop playing, but private contact and account details should not appear there.

If you play adult cricket

Before a junior can play open-age cricket, the Club must check that they are eligible and ready. A parent or carer must give written permission, and the Club may need emergency, medical or protective-equipment information to help keep the player safe.

Using the Club app

If you are under 13, your Club information should normally be managed through a parent or guardian account. The app may store secure sign-in and device details and, if notifications are enabled, information needed to send a message to the device. Face or fingerprint information stays on the device and is not given to the Club.

Safeguarding information

If you tell someone about a welfare or safeguarding concern, they may need to share it with the Club Safeguarding Officer and other people who can help protect you or somebody else. They cannot always promise to keep a safeguarding concern secret, but it should only be shared with people who need to know.

Your choices and rights

You or your parent/carer can ask what information the Club has, correct something that is wrong, change optional communication or photograph choices, or ask whether information can be deleted. Some cricket, safeguarding, financial or legal records may still need to be kept.
